About Our Speaker
Rebecca Achurch
PgMP, PMP, CSM, CAE
Founder of Achurch Consulting
Rebecca Achurch is an IT executive who evolved from the “program side” of association management to become a leader in strategic planning and team building. She is experienced in both Waterfall and Agile project management and is a strong believer in the Agile Manifesto’s guiding tenants of “Individuals and interactions over processes and tools.” She used those tenants to form the foundation of Achurch Consulting. With over two decades of non-profit/association management and technology experience, Rebecca possesses in-depth knowledge of industry technology solutions. She has a unique ability to align the strategic goals and culture of an organization with the appropriate technology. She serves as the Fractional CIO for several organizations where she is responsible for strategy and infrastructure. Most notably, Rebecca has facilitated transformative IT changes that allow staff to work seamlessly from the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association‘s (MEMA’s) three locations, or anywhere in the world, and helped upgrade their technology platforms. Having built and worked on virtual and co-located teams for over 15 years, Rebecca began by being the first person in the American Chemical Society’s (ACS’s) IT Division to work as a remote employee. While there, she built and managed a team of more than 15 project managers, business analysts, and developers to implement innovative applications for both internal business units and ACS Members. In addition to her bachelor’s degree in Communications, Rebecca possess several certifications including the Program Management Professional (PgMP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Association Executive (CAE), and is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. Active in the association community, she serves on the ASAE Technology Council, is a founder and board member of the Association Women Technology Champions (AWTC) , and regularly presents on building virtual teams, project management, business intelligence, and building trust – among other topics – at industry conferences.
